Its not exhaustive. but a good beginning guide. Its also a bit too segmented by the use of alphabetical listings by short discussions of each topic. So. for example. a topic such as accidentals is scattered in different places: with single notes. in chords. use of courtesy accidentals. etc. I would prefer to see it all in one place. i.e. an entire chapter on accidentals. Doing it like that would require some overlapping of material from different chapters. but I cant hurt music students to be able to find the same information in any of several different places.But. on the whole. a good beginning book and an excellent value for the price.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
