[audiobook] Experimental Landscapes in Watercolour by Ann Blockley at Arts-Photography

Description

Whistling PsycheA dark night; an old waiting room and two supposed strangers eager to reach their destinations. In the cold hours that rest between nightfall and daybreak; silent questions prompt unexpected revelations. Two souls share a passion for reform; but only one - Miss Nightingale - has been honoured. The other; Dr Barry; would never receive the same acclaim; but notoriety came after death and for a very different reason . . .Whistling Psyche premiegrave;red at the Almeida Theatre; London in May 2004.Fred and Jane explores the deep and sustaining friendship between two nuns; Anna and Beatrice; as they recall the trials and joys of religious life. This is Barry at his best: evocative; gentle; suffused with the beauty of the simple and the joy of turning the strange into the familiar. Sunday TribuneA rare delight. A clear-running joy. Sunday IndependentA triumph in its own right. RTEFred and Jane premiegrave;red at Bewleys Cafe Theatre; Dublin in 2002.

This book definitely helped me along those lines.Shana Priwer and Dr. Cynthia Phillips have done an outstanding job in the writing of this book. I found some of the chapter titles humorous ("The mamas and the papas....."). The book helped me see Leonardo da Vinci in a new "light"; and I am looking forward to further reading/research on this genius. The book is small and easy to read; I found myself taking it with me wherever I went.Leonardo da Vinci was truly a Renaissance Man. I liked that the writers took time to go into depth about the other great Renaissance Men (Michelangelo; Raphael; Botticelli) which I found very educational. The reading was an easy flow from beginning to end.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Three StarsBy John WestInteresting but too much about color tones and painting techniques.0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Doesnt do any justice to the genius - Da VinciBy Lyn6024I found this book tediously repetitive; and light on detail and facts. The style of writing was also inconsistent and often immature.
