I learned a lot reading this; some may have different opinions.I needed this for a g.e. course at my college and this was for Ethnic Musics. Our class was really interactive with this book and it helped us understand not only the material of the course but also gave us great history and stories to back it up as well. It also introduces us to the different genres of American music and even though I dont really like folk music. I was able to be open-minded and open-ears when listening to the many great examples of folk music.I also got this book for a lot cheaper than what my friends were paying so thats also great too.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
