Here are some of the facts that this book mentions: Solano County was named after Suisun Indian Chief Solano. Clipper Captain Robert Waterman married Cordelia Sterling of Bridgepoint. CT in 1846. She followed her husband to CA in 1852. They had no children. Fairfield was overshadowed by its neighbor and rival. Suisun City. for the first 75 years of its existence. The original inhabitants were the Suisun Indians. The word Suisun means where the West Winds blow. There are photograph pictures of Texas Street in Fairfield in 1911 and 1925. Some of the other pictures and/or portraits in the book include the following: General Vallejo. Chief Solano.
