Fairmount (Images of America)

[ePub] Fairmount (Images of America) by Cathy Duling Shouse in Arts-Photography

Description

A critical survey of Hollywood film musicals from the 1960s to the present. This book examines how; in the post-studio system era; cultural; industrial and stylistic circumstances transformed this once happy-go-lucky genre into one both fluid and cynical enough to embrace the likes of Rocky Horror and pave the way for Cannibal! and Moulin Rouge!.

If You Love Indiana HistoryBy Jude UrbanskiCathy Duling Shouses Fairmount (Images of America)was so much fun to read. I poured over all the old photos with interest and learned more than I ever knew about the area. And I thought I knew a little bit! I didnt know Fairmount and the surrounding towns were home to several religious groups and strong educational academies; had groomed several famous people and had been a budding metropolis. The pictures were carefully picked by the author and tell a complete story by themselves. The detailed text is a nice extra for the reader.I hadnt heard of the Images of America Books before. certainly liked this one. I want to red others now.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Fairmount (Images of America)By Arlen RienstraExcellent pictorial collection of photo images of Fairmount. Indiana. Covers the town history in photos from mid-1800s through the 1900s. Many seldom seen views of the town along with captions and comments. Sections on famous town products such as James Dean and Jim Davis.
