None of these books have pictures in them. yet theyve sold millions more copies than Fallen Superheroes. And thats the difference isnt it? This book has pictures. and good ones at that. Pictures that make you laugh. pictures that make you cry--but mostly because you arent talented and now youre face to face with it. Dont fret! And honestly. where else will you find such an awesome collection of cleavage. leotards. and farm animals? Huh? Seriously. where? Because Ill buy that next.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Bleak lives documented with lush photographsBy Ann FWhile every successful superheros story has a sad aspect to it. whether its powers that isolate him or her from the rest of humanity. the pressure of leading a dual life. or a bleak origin story. at least they can find some needed consolation in being powerful enough to make a difference in the world. These poor schlubs have all of the pressure of superpowers but almost none of the compensations. These are the people with powers virtually nobody else would want or human failings that virtually negate their powers. Some are fully aware of this. while others appear to cling to some kind of delusive hope. desperately. not looking at it too closely for fear that it will fall away in shreds. The photographs are absolutely magnificent and the section about how they were made is fascinating reading for anybody interested in photography. The color and lighting are lush. luxurious. and larger than life. which only amplifies the plight of their subjects. The photos and stories are funny but in a touchingly sad way. We know that when we laugh at these. we are laughing at the ignominious parts of ourselves.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. In a word...AMAZINGBy DMarieS"Fallen Superheroes" is one of the most ingenious publications I have ever had the honor of owning. The concept is absolutely brilliant and the photography is amazing. At first. I just flipped through the photographs and was in awe of the lighting. the colors and the concepts. Once I read the stories that went along with each of the superheroes. I was completely smitten with the book. One of the most unique. unconventional and incredible books I have ever read or seen. Bravo to Eric Curtis for bringing these fallen superheroes to life by providing the reader with a back story on what they were and how they got where they are through photos and narrative. If I could give it more than five stars. I would. BRILLIANT!!!!!
