Highly recommended (especially to beginners)!By MelissaThis book is well put together and I highly recommend it.The instructions are easy to understand and is packed with useful little tips for improving your manga drawings. The pages are filled with step-by-step illustrations to help beginners follow along with the instructions. You never get lost between steps and the chapters/content is well organized to help with your progression.Aside from demonstrating the basics on how to draw manga characters (normal sized and chibi); the book covers a variety of topics such as- creating hair styles- drawing clothing details properly- mapping facial expressions correctly- manga inking and shading techniques- idea generation for interesting and unique characters- creating polished pictures- creating well constructed manga pages with multiple panelsIm satisfied with my purchase. ^_^5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Great for new manga and anime artists!By theBLKrabbitDIY art class for home! This book starts right from the bottom. It works with the idea that most of us start with a cheap No.2 pencil and some copy paper. Then goes into more detail on recommenced items to look forward to as you progress. Most books you dont want to actually read everything word for word. However its hard not to in this one because so many parts will catch your eye and youll find yourself WANTING to get more information on how to do something. There is something in here for anyone that is working on certain aspects of a quick how to sketch. What I felt was most valued in this is that it is very encouraging. Like in an art class you have an instructor there to guide and push you to show your work; move forward; take information; and do better. Most art books are so instructional it is not very personable to those small minds that need that extra encouragement. Im actually an avid mangaka and comic artist for years. I got this book because the authors youtube channel was so good and she has a way of making you understand that everyone needs a little help. I plan on giving this book to my niece who has shown interest in my comic book work and painting.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.
