Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition); as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits; maps; sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images; so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts; we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Plus Im older now; have a son of my own; and am an EMT. So when my wife delivered our son - I got to do the delivery and cord-cutting...BASICALLY - I thought I had alot of baby experience. Until I read this book!! Wow...this book turns your world around as far as how you view newborns. It answers that ever-present and nerve-wracking question each new parent faces; that of - IF; and how; babies communicate w/ us! The personal experiences of the authors as Drs. in Pediatrics are invaluable. Just reading about the many visual and audible clues that babies constantly send out to their parents is priceless information. I have sent out at least a dozen of these books to friends and family members; and everyone of them have been thrilled. The text provides knowledge whilst allowing the reader to pause for reflection and recognition of personal experiences.
