Farming was the primary industry during the first 100 years; but in the 1920s; Clawson began to develop into a "bedroom" community within the 2.2 miles that now comprise the city limits. Sadly. much of whats covered has been torn down by today. so it doesnt work so well as a guidebook to take a historical tour of the city.
