Von diesen vierzig Altauml;ren sind heute nur noch ein Seitenfluuml;gel eines Altarretabels und ein Rochusaltar vorhanden. Des weiteren gibt es noch eine Mutter Gottes auf der Mondsichel; eine mittelalterliche Fuuml;nte; eine astronomische Uhr und den heutigen barocken Hauptaltar.Diese Arbeit widmet sich dem Rochusaltar (Abb. 1). Das Altarretabel ist in die Entstehungszeit um 1534 datiert. Die Kuuml;nstlerzuschreibung ist in der Forschungsliteratur sehr schwankend und geht von Benedikt Dreyer uuml;ber Claus Berg bis hin nach Schwaben und zur niederrheinischen Schnitzkunst. Vorwiegend wird das Retabel Benedikt Dreyer bzw. seinem Umfeld zugeschrieben.Das Interesse dieser Arbeit liegt auf der Verehrung der Heiligen; welche im Retabel dargestellt sind und wie diese auf den Glauml;ubigen gewirkt haben kouml;nnten. Dabei ist zu bedenken; dass durch den Verlust der restlichen Altauml;re das zu behandelnde Retabel eine andere Wirkung auf den Betrachter ausuuml;bt. Des Weiteren steht die Legitimation eines solchen Retabels zur Frage.Die dargestellten Heiligen sind: der hl. Rochus; der hl. Antonius der Eremit; der hl. Sebastian; die hl. Auml;rzte Kosmas und Damian; der hl. Christophorus; ein unidentifizierter Bischof; sowie weibliche Heiligenfiguren aus dem Gesprenge. Die Heiligen sind alle Schutzheilige gegen Pest und Krankheit. Uuml;ber die Entstehungsumstauml;nde des Altares ist nichts bekannt; daher lauml;sst sich anhand der Figuren vermuten; dass das Retabel eine Stiftung der Zunft der Wundauml;rzte und Bartscherer war; da deren Patronatsheilige zu finden sind.

Disappointing till nowBy viviI was very exited when I saw this book on a library. in spanish. and although the price was excessive(160 Peruvian soles) I bought it.I read till now till the dialogue of the wifes. which I jumped by the end because of boredom. What a shallow. uninteresting book. Nothing about the philosophical insights or very little. I am now reading the angelus novus part. Till now I read more in Wikipedia about than here. Maybe it will change. but meanwhile if I would have been an editor. I would have never published such a shallow. charicatural and repetitive work.
