A good book for anyone interested in the history and development of the American WestBy Thomas HurstIf youre not inclined to track down the scarce (out-of-print) tome; "Nevadas Northeast Frontier"; or if you like your history with lots and lots of interesting pictures; this is definitely the book to get. Indeed; if youre not familiar with the town of Elko and Elko County; well; not only do the old east-west railway lines (and; now; Interstate 80 from Reno to Salt Lake City) go through them; but they are - and have been for over a century - the center of ranching and mining in northern Nevada.
