What a great historian and folklorist! His writing is clear and concise and obviously well-researched. He presents the story and lets the reader decide if they believe. He writes about urban legends. and ghost stories being a part of community memory. but I like the stories in this book because they are scary. especially the first one. "The Ghosts and Curses of the Old Quaker Church". I grew up 5 miles from this church and never knew about the weird happenings.
