Good and Evil Color

[PDF] Good and Evil Color by Michael Pearl at Arts-Photography

Description

Sophocles Antigone comes alive in this new translation that will be useful for academic study and stage production. Diane Rayors accurate yet accessible translation reflects the plays inherent theatricality. She provides an analytical introduction and comprehensive notes; and the edition includes an essay by director Karen Libman. Antigone begins after Oedipus and Jocastas sons have killed each other in battle over the kingship. The new king; Kreon; decrees that the brother who attacked with a foreign army remain unburied and promises death to anyone who defies him. The play centers on Antigones refusal to obey Kreons law and Kreons refusal to allow her brothers burial. Each acts on principle colored by gender; personality and family history. Antigone poses a conflict between passionate characters whose extreme stances leave no room for compromise. The highly charged struggle between the individual and the state has powerful implications for ethical and political situations today.

My kids are learning to have devotions with this book and Im getting mine done without interuptions! I like that the stories are exactly as the Bible describes. Caution! It doesnt sugar coat any of the Bible stories....my daughter came to me later and said "Did you know Peter was crucified upside down?" We love this book and the kids even ask daddy to read it to them at night.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. This Book Belongs on Every Childs Bookshelf! We love it!By JPalThe Pearls did a wonderful job on this book. We bought the original black white version and our children read it many times before it finally fell apart. Since the black white is no longer available. I purchased the color version. It has the same content that we love. It tells the chronological account of creation to the end times. We all enjoy reading it! My first choice is still the black white.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A great helpBy George StanExcellent graphic novel.
