I was so pleased to discover that not only did it contain many images of Salisbury Beach; but also of Black Rock. I have spent years trying to locate a photo of Black Rock--now I finally have one! Through this book; I was amazed to learn how many disasters have hit Salisbury; particularly fires. Im so glad that the powers that be; continued to rebuild as Salisbury Beach played a large part in my childhood and teen years. The only image not contained within the book that I would dearly love to have was that of the fun house with the "fat lady"--as she was then called--laughing up a storm on the outside of the building. To my brother and me; SHE was the symbol of Salisbury Beach.To those of you who have read the book and believe that the Broadway Carousel is now in San Diego; I am sad to report that the carousel--once located at Seaport Village-- was sold in a private auction approx. 11 years ago. No one knows what happened to it :( If anyone out there does know what happened to it; please let me know. The happy lining in all this is that not only did my brother and I ride the carousel at Salisbury Beach; but I rode it with my granddaughter here in San Diego! :)0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
