There are just too few singers and vocal coaches who think this way (as the author) anymore. No wonder the beautiful and stupendous voices have disappeared! The few exercises given are also very good. I found them very useful. Ive tried many techniques and teachers during my 20 years of singing opera as a tenor. and not until I found the works of Denes Stirny and Anthony Frisell (their approaches are quite similar) did I begin to understand how to sing with ease and total freedom. The holy Grail of singing. indeed! Many thanks. The only slight imperfection of this book is how some stories and details are repeated several times in the book. E.g. the story of Pavarotti and his teacher appears at least 3 times in the book. Maybe employ a good editor would be an idea for the next edition?0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Denes and his teachings have changed my life in ways I didnt think were possible. These teachings (and this book) make one see that to use ones voice can be a beautiful. joyous. and uncomplicated experience. Singing in this way that mother nature intended allows one to see that anything in possible in life....including the Metropolitan Opera House.
