Great pics some good interviews. but misses the mark by a mileBy Unhinged17Great pictures and some excellent. insightful interviews of amp builders like Michael Zaite of Dr. Z and Mark Bartel from Tone King Amplifier Company. However. the author writes in a highly opinionated voice in a bonehead. "rawkin out" style. and the book contains poorly written chapters and a ton of typos. He obviously doesnt understand many of the technical aspects of amplifiers that he attempts to describe. Why go to all the bother to write a book and publish it in such a sorry state? Its also only 130 pages long - it should be about twice this for better. more extensive coverage of the subject. Aspen Pittman. Dave Hunter and Richie Fliegler have written many of the classics of the genre of guitar amplifier books. Too bad this author blew it so badly with this. Im shocked Michael Molenda would write a foreword to a book like this - his writing for Guitar Player magazine is excellent and authoritative. This book is not. its more like a teenagers overview of his favorite amps. I really wanted to like this book. and I was very excited when it appeared recently.
