Description

Every child is an artist; the problem is staying an artist when you grow up - Pablo Picasso This isnt your usual art manual. Its for big kids everywhere everyone who loved getting covered in paint and glue at school and would secretly love to do it more often. Its also for people who love pop culture: comedy; trashy TV; great TV; pop videos; pop stars and pop music. And not only does it help you harness your inner creativity; its also a lot of fun! Mel Elliott; doyenne of the cool colouring book and the crazy paper doll; imparts the secrets of her expertise; giving you in-depth tutorials on how to create funky collages; make cool wonky lettering; paint the skin tones of the stars and much; much more. With more pop culture references than you can throw a Justin Bieber CD at; this book will have you drawing; painting; cutting and colouring before you can say Welcome to Pawnee; using your newly learned skills and indulging your own personal tastes to create works of art to be proud of. After all; how better to learn to paint than by painting Kate Moss?

Practical advice and fun to read!By CustomerI love how Andrea brings together women; all with quite different personal style; and pulls out a blueprint for style that everyone can use. Its so fun to read tips from women like Brooke Williams; Maria Cornejo; and Anne Johnston-- all amazing looking and with totally different approaches. The day after I read the book I took 3 pairs of shoes to the cobbler and 2 pairs of jeans to the tailor; thats one of the great things about the book; its not necessarily about buying more more more; but finding what you love (even in your closet) and embracing it.5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. ... experts but Linett makes me feel at ease and like I can actually follow her directionBy HSIm usually intimidated by fashion books and experts but Linett makes me feel at ease and like I can actually follow her direction. This book is packed with really great advice and tons of clothes that are easier to wear than I thought. She writes more like a friend than a typical fashion person. If only I could get her to come shopping with me!5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Get Effortless.By Violet FeldmanI left the Big Apple over a decade ago; and this is the perfect refresher for that only-in-NYC-cool-girl look. (Side note; waaahhh I miss Lucky.) Bonus points for tips on creating a wardrobe thats with-it without trying too hard. Theres also tons of beauty tips. I now know: Eye or Mouth: Never Both. Thank you Andrea Linett!
