This author is awful. I dont know if I can finish the book. His first story about the Landmark Theater is extremely disappointing. He states Clarissa may haunt the theater....needs alot more story. How did Clarissa die? Did she hang herself? Hit by a car or wagon leaving the the theater? Its never mentioned. It seems like he didnt care about getting substance on the ghosts. Neil also mentions Oscar Rau....no substance- who what why are missing. I want a ghost story and he spends most of the chapter talking about the history of the movie house and that it went by the way side because of TV. If you are writing a book of ghosts we want ghost stories. Out of 6 pages there are 3 pictures. In 3 pages 1 and a half are about the theater n why it went out of business.Very disapointed. I should have chills reading this not boredom or lack of attention.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy Kathleen D. WardThis was a fascinating and well written book. Who knew that upstate NY could be so interesting?2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. That is enough to decide the rest of the book couldnt be any better. Just a book of a lot of hear-say ...By RichI read only one chapter on Split Rock. The author has no concept of what he is talking about regarding that site. He copies the story from "a historian" without giving tat person credit. He speaks glowingly of the Shadow Chasrers paranormal group but they have a long history of violating copyrighted videos and information and dont bother to credit who they steal from. That is enough to decide the rest of the book couldnt be any better. Just a book of a lot of hear-say when the aiuthor had ample opportunity to talk to bonefide historians of the Split Rock site.
