Heritage Planning: Principles and Process

[ebooks] Heritage Planning: Principles and Process by Harold Kalman at Arts-Photography

Description

Mark Mothersbaugh is a legendary figure for fans of both street art and music culture. Cofounder of the seminal New Wave band DEVO; he was a prolific visual artist before the bands inception moving seamlessly between multiple mediums creating bold; cartoonish; strangely disturbed works of pop surrealism that playfully explore the relationship between technology and individuality. In the most comprehensive presentation of his work to date; Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia features a lifetime of his creative inventions from the beginning of his artistic career in the 1970s to his most recent work; including early postcards; screen prints; decals; and DEVO ephemera as well as later paintings; photographs (such as the celebrated Beautiful Mutants series); sculpture; and rugs. Accompanied by a major six city traveling exhibition; this richly illustrated catalog positions Mothersbaugh as a pivitol figure in the history of both contemporary art and indie culture.

Lots of good information about the making of a "boutique" guitar. If you have 3 to 10 grand for a handmade guitar and just cant live without one; read this while you shop for a luthier to build your dream guitar. After it arrives; can I play it?0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Interesting readingBy D. DreifusInteresting reading.I enjoyed the book.Although the history of the guitar is exhaustive; and there was one especially gruesome depiction of racist torture in the South that could have been omitted; I liked the clear and commonsense description of the guitars assembly. The author has a gift for describing luthery concepts simply and clearly.Chapters alternate between history and the progress of the authors custom guitar build.Probably my favorite part was discovering the tone bar reinforcement braces act as "transducers" distributing the sound from the bridge through the bracing and the soundboard top; in addition to adding strength.Plus the long developmental history helps one appreciate the present day guitar that much more.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
