Sharing the Light features essays originally presented at the popular 1992 EFY conferences. Young people today face a lot of tough question that older generations may not have faced; but they also deal with many of the same issues that have seemed so unbearable to adolescents throughout time. How do you overcome discouragement and cope with failure? What can you do when you feel fat and have ugly hair; and not even a doctor can help you get rid of blemishes? Why is it so important to stay morally clean? How do you survive moving to a new school? these are some of the questions addressed by twenty encouraging; sparkling; down-to-earth speakers. they laugh at themselves; share their wisdom; and offer hope that people do survive the teen years. And they happen to know a lot about the gospel.

DavisAfter debating the purchase of this book for a while; primarily due to the price; I decided to hit the ORDER button when the price dipped a bit below the normal listed price. The book arrived today and I was sorely disappointed to find that; contrary to how lists it (since publication and up through today; 11/9/11) the book is a paperback NOT a hardback. I spent upwards of $70 on this title with the understanding that; oftentimes; "academic" type books are fairly high priced; particularly for hardback editions. $75 for a paperback- less than 300 pages; however; puts this title firmly in the category of unreasonably priced. The book is nothing more than a compendium of credits for actors who have provided voices for Disney films. Most of this information is readily available online; primarily on IMDB. There is a two page introduction and the rest is lists - there is little to no editorial content in the book. While a nice resource to have handy; the book is absolutely not worth the price.UPDATE: While finishing this up; I just went and checked around online. Not only does list this as a hardcover when it is a paperback; they list it with an original retail price of $125.00 and an discounted price of "only" $75.00 - a $50 savings! However; the book sells for $75 directly from the publisher. The retail price is $75.00; not $125.00.UPDATE 2: following my complaint to (and return of the book); did update the listing; so it now is no longer listed as a hardcover.5 of 10 people found the following review helpful. disney voice actors:A Biographical DictionaryBy Rvan der LubbeIt not a hardcover but a paperback that was very disaportend. And not a singel photo or pictuur from the voice actors or charters. And bat shap paper for this price.1 of 3 people found the following review helpful. For Every Disney Fan!By Disney Princess Wanna-BeA must-have for those who survive by being fed a steady stream of Disney information constantly into their ho-hum lives. This book is a definite read cover to cover or to just brows through happily uncovering many facts about your favorite movies and cartoons. The bios; alphabetically listed; are very thorough but what is truly special is the list of ALL the Disney animated movies and shorts listed with the voice actor and then subcategories by type of character! It is very easy to cross reference and very fun to read! Its truly amazing the number of famous people have lent their voices to be a part of Disney history. If you think of yourself as a Disney fan; this addition to your library is a must!
