Anna Louise James fought to become the first black female pharmacist in Connecticut; and she took care of her community; serving them medicine as well as ice cream sodas at James Pharmacy. There is also local restaurateur Steffie Walters; who after emigrating from Austria remained at the helm of the much-loved shore eatery Dock and Dine for eleven years. Enjoyable but with some issues.By Peter TeagueIm a huge no doubt fan and have been for many years and this was the first book Ive read on themIt had some info I didnt know from quotes/interviews the band has done over the years and compiled it nicely into a timeline.the problem is a lot of filler and repeated content. For instance the first chapter is the history of ska music and theres a lot of other passages giving too much detail to characters that werent very relevant to no doubts history. If you combine this with the fact that a lot of quotes are brought up several time you can see that the writer probably had little exclusive sources and had to stretch it out.I dont regret the purchase and would recommend it any hardcore No Doubt fans but as someone who has read a lot of books on rock and roll bands this isnt one of better ones.
