A stunning; unprecedented collection of photographs and essays that goes behind the scenes at NASA; in which the humanity of the astronauts; engineers; scientists; technicians; and ground crews that contributed in saving the Hubble Space Telescope are revealed.Michael Soluri has been photographing the people and places of space exploration for more than fifteen years. With the support of Discover magazine; NASA; and the astronaut crew; he was able to gain unfettered access to the multiple worlds of the historic; one-of-a-kind shuttle mission and tools that saved the Hubble Space Telescope. His friendship with the crew grew out of a chance meeting with Mike Massimino; one of the seven astronauts selected for the last-ever servicing mission to the Hubble. Intrigued by the possibilities; Soluri asked Massimino: ldquo; What is the quality of light really like in space?rdquo; While astronauts take photos in space all the time; Soluri was asked to coach this crew into making photographs that better communicate their experiences in space the way an artist does: as expressions of human curiosity and ambition; and the infinite worlds to which humankind aspires in exploring the universe. Infinite Worlds is an exclusive and unscripted photographic documentary inside the world of three NASA flight centers in Maryland; Texas; and Florida. With the closing of the shuttle program; this is the first and last book of its kind. Designed with more than 400 gorgeous full-color and black white photographs; it is woven with essays written by eighteen individuals from the human and robotic spaceflight labor force that participated in STS 125/SM4. Infinite Worlds will appeal not only to the space history buff and photography connoisseur; but also to the armchair astronomer; and families wanting an insightful and beautiful keepsake of the space shuttle and Hubble Space Telescope era.

Great book series!By Melissa BrisenoAs a music instructor; I have been using this series of Alfreds books with my piano students and they all progress very well from one book to the next. I have students that are close to completing the previous books (level 1B) so I purchase the next level to prepare for when they are ready to move on to the next level. The students enjoy the bright; colorful; and sometimes humorous illustrations and everything is explained very well. Highly recommend this book (and series) to other instructors and/or those looking for self-teaching.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great book for kidsBy Amber D. StewartMy kids use this series of books for their piano lessons. They started at age 5 and 6 and have done well with these books. They like the pictures as well as the included songs. The books do a good job of building piano skills from the very basics. The style does seem targeted toward younger kids; so I dont think it would be the best choice for a teenager or adult learning piano; but has been perfect for my kids.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I love the Alfreds Basic series for my piano students.By Ellen M. DuBoisThe Basic Piano series by Alfreds is great for my piano students. The Basic moves along at a fairly good pace and is strong on music theory. What I love about this book is it combines lesson book 2 and 3; (in order); so the one book lasts my students longer. I also use the notespellers with these books to make sure the music theory is covered. I highly recommend these for students who are younger; (from 6 up); to follow along in this series. As it progresses; the pieces become more challenging and are super for teaching piano without leaving anything out.
