Dynamite licks; and the best part? The instructor; Forest Rodgers; alternates between his own playing and that of a pedal steel player to show you what the original lick sounds like. So; why four stars? Its a VHS transfer; and the resolution isnt as clear as I would prefer. That notwithstanding; the material is stellar.6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Review of Pedal Steel Licks BookBy Steven J. CortesThis book is a very good reference for usable pedal steel licks. SOme of the simplest steel licks are correctly omitted and some ofthe better ones are here. This book assumes that you can play fairly well and string bending to the correct tone is not a problem. The examples on the CD are clear; although I would redo the introductory tune since I didnt think it represented the licks that well. I would suggest that these licks be transposed to your favorite country keys of A; C; D ;E and practiced on several different string sets so they become part of your everyday playing.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
