Siamo in una notte di tempesta: lampi e tuoni invadono limmenso spazio di una bottega dove tutto egrave; in svendita: vero antiquariato; falsi di plastica. La vecchia e grassa proprietaria; talvolta grottesca da far paura; altre bellissima; scopre la bimba nascosta in uno dei suoi bauli: ha cosigrave; inizio il piugrave; contorto e contraddittorio rapporto tra le due opposte generazioni. Chi egrave; la vecchia; truculenta signora? E chi la bimba bagnata di pioggia che tenta di rubarle un vestitino celeste tutto pizzi e merletti? Quando la prima si intenerisce le racconta le vicende di alcuni personaggi della nostra storia presi a caso qua e lagrave; nei suoi ricordi. "Prima che esistessero tutte le cose... prima ancora... vagava nello spazio la "polvere nera" che faceva ammalare di odio e tristezza chiunque la respirasse...". Iniziano cosigrave; le "favole" che intratterranno la bimba facendo scorrere il tempo di quella terribile notte di brutti presagi. "Nellimmenso spazio cerano due regni: quello del re di cuori e quello del re di picche..." cosigrave; continueragrave; la vecchia signora raccontando fino allalba quando si schiuderanno le porte di quella bottega che saragrave; svuotata di tutto... Once I started reading i had to finish it. Last time that happened was The DaVinci Code. The book is an easy read with much insight to some of the workings of the music business. Also describe her trials and tribulations. She never paints herself to be an angel. Almost humble describing her Grammy for "17" ( in my opinion the best song written about growing up). Its a human story and I dont think Janis left anything; good and bad; out of her story.and there is plenty of both. Apparently one of the best things Janis did in her life was make good and lasting friends and that payed off in the end. The book is well written and I would highly recommend it.
