Anders Leonard Zorn was one of Swedenrsquo;s foremost artists who obtained international success as a painter; sculptor and print-maker in etching. His incisive ability to depict the individual character of his model is famous. The models surroundings were important; Zorn believed that a portrait should be painted in an environment that was natural for the model. An artificial studio environment was not to his taste. This book contains 250 high-quality annotated reproductions with details of paintings and etchings by Anders Zorn. Some people say that the "devils in the details" and generally; they are right. Looking out for the small details in one picture is a good practice; since in most of the cases small but ultimately important details is the heart of a great authors idea. This title aims to help you see the details of Zorns works; his secrets are not in his words; they are in his works. Look close up at his paintings and etchings; and that tell you what you cannot see but need to know and that should be enough.

To improve upon this beautiful book; it would be helpful if the author would have had statements such as: "as you are driving along highway 74/76; be sure to see ... Or be sure and stop by this gem of a place for old-fashioned fountain drinks" or stuff like that. Instead; directions; such as drive 5 miles on 74/76 and then turn onto Hwy 17 N; etc.; are given in the margins with the pages being filled with history of; for example; Lake Waccawmaw. I plan to ride all routes just for fun.Most of the time I use the book as a guide but mark in my GPS the routes before leaving home. I also use the internet to do some research about restaurants and add them to my route. This way I can ride to a certain place and find good meals before riding back.Sometimes I join two or more routes together to create a longer trip. Easy using the method I described above.After all that; all I have to do is follow the directions from my GPS. It has worked every single time. The result is a great ride that also allows me to get to know NC better.Last; but not least; the images in this book are really good. Im a photographer and Mr Adams has a good eye for color and composition. This is not amateur photography inserted in a book with sloppiness. No sir. Some of the pictures here are quite incredible and very well edited.I bought other NC guides. This is the one I decided to follow first.
