Icecream (NHB Modern Plays) (Royal Court Theatre Series)

[ePub] Icecream (NHB Modern Plays) (Royal Court Theatre Series) by Caryl Churchill at Arts-Photography

Description

After two decades of evolution and transformation; London had become one of the most open and cosmopolitan cities in the world. The success of the 2012 Olympics set a high water-mark in the visible success of the city; while its influence and soft power increased in the global systems of trade; capital; culture; knowledge; and communications. The Making of a World City: London 1991 - 2021 sets out in clear detail both the catalysts that have enabled London to succeed and also the qualities and underlying values that are at play: Londonrsquo;s openness and self-confidence; its inventiveness; influence; and its entrepreneurial zeal. Londonrsquo;s organic; unplanned; incremental character; without a ruling design code or guiding master plan; proves to be more flexible than any planned city can be. Cities are high on national and regional agendas as we all try to understand the impact of global urbanisation and the re-urbanisation of the developed world. If we can explain Londonrsquo;s successes and her remaining challenges; we can unlock a better understanding of how cities succeed.

StambouliehA legal expose for a tragedy of genocide-would that our politicians read it and inform themselves!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Too technical for meBy LindyannI purchased this after hearing the author participate in Crosstalk; a super discussion program on RT tv. I liked what I heard. The book; however; did not suit me-- too much technical/law stuff for me to follow.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A decent book that raises interesting argumentsBy Christopher M. Whitman Jr.The author starts with the premise of solving the conflict using international law and precedents set in other similar cases. He writes like an editorialist in the sense that the articles do not really link or go in order. They are just different arguments for the same point. He is a supporter of the PLO and the two state solution; which people here can debate about the pros and cons; but I will not bore the audience. If you want an international law approach to a handful of topics involved in the Israel-Palestine conflict; I recommend the book. If you want a general reader or information on a specific topic involved; this book is not for you.
