Inside I found all the information I have been scouring the internet to find. Mary goes into detail about what kinds of foams to use for different projects and some really helpful advice about not choosing the wrong one - for example upholstery foam is cheaper so its good for prototypes but is light sensitive and if not covered it will crumble apart over time. So it might be a bad choice for a final build. Costume building can be complex and there are many factors to consider and Mary really dives into how to solve the problem of what material to use for every step of the process. The chapters on subtractive and additive patterning are amazing and highly detailed. I had no idea you could make patterns this way!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Mary McClung has created an extremely valuable book for those ...By Bart. P.
