An essential purchase for all TVD fansBy BlossomI have been a HUGE fan of this show ever since I started watching it last September; but as I live in Ireland I had to download the episodes each week as they aired in the US. I have since watched each of them five times and absolutely love everything about the show as a whole. IMO its the best new TV show since LOST.As soon as I heard there was going to be a companion book to the show I just had to purchase it and I am SO happy I did. This book is FANTASTIC and I have read it several times since receiving it. There is a Season 1 episode guide; but unlike many guides that just say what happens in each episode; this goes directly into the heart of everything and details what the consequences of each characters actions will be; which I find REALLY interesting; as it really gets you thinking.The cast itself has been perfectly chosen and there is also a section of the book thats devoted to the actors and actresses as well as the shows creators; Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec and even L.J. Smith; who wrote the source material that the show is based on.I really hope there will be a similar book published for Season 2 and please dont let the word Unofficial on the cover put you off purchasing this; as its truly a must-buy for all fans of the show.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Calhoun digs deep into each episode; breaking it down to give her readers her unique insight into the shows characters and plot.Love You to Death is one of those books that youll turn to again and again. Just as I watch The Vampire Diaries over and over; I always have my set of Crissy Calhouns books close by; reading each chapter as I watch the corresponding episode. Its fun to look into what shes written to see if she shares my thoughts on character motivation or if a plot development is as shocking to her as it is to me. Calhouns episode analysis also includes what she found to be the episodes compelling moment; what she refers to as "foggy" moments (plot holes; continuity issues) and even a song list for each show.As a Vampire Diaries fan; I wouldnt be without this book or the entire series. Love these ALMOST as much as I love TVD!!!By Lauren vanDommelenI started with ordering the first 3; used cheap; because I wasnt sure what to expect....I was worried it would literally just be re-caps of each episodes; things that every TVD viewer already knew; and honestly; I was worried it would just be redundant. I received Season 3s "Love You to Death" in the mail first (unfortunately); and started reading it instantly. It wasnt the redundancy I worried about; and before I knew it; I was 70-some pages in!!! I received this one; Season 1; just a few days later and put down Season 3 so I could start from the beginning. This series of books is a MUST HAVE for every true Vampire Diaries fan (which I am....everyone who knows me knows not to even call me on Thursdays between 8-9pm)!! It doesnt just re-cap the episodes; scene for scene. It does explain what happens in the episodes; but it goes deeper. If you are a true fan of the show; buy this!!!! Trust me; you wont regret it!!!!! I cant wait for Seasons 2; 4 and 5 to show up in my mailbox....and I cant wait for Season 6 to be written!!!!
