Henry V is Shakespearersquo;s most famous ldquo;war playrdquo;; it includes the storied English victory over the French at Agincourt. Some of it glorifies war; especially the choruses and Henryrsquo;s speeches urging his troops into battle. But we also hear bishops conniving for war to postpone a bill that would tax the church; and soldiers expecting to reap profits from the conflict. Even in the speeches of Henry and his nobles; there are many chilling references to the human cost of war. The authoritative edition of Henry V from The Folger Shakespeare Library; the trusted and widely used Shakespeare series for students and general readers; includes: -The exact text of the printed book for easy cross-reference -Hundreds of hypertext links for instant navigation -Freshly edited text based on the best early printed version of the play -Full explanatory notes conveniently linked to the text of the play -Scene-by-scene plot summaries -A key to the playrsquo;s famous lines and phrases -An introduction to reading Shakespearersquo;s language -An essay by a leading Shakespeare scholar providing a modern perspective on the play -Fresh images from the Folger Shakespeare Libraryrsquo;s vast holdings of rare books -An annotated guide to further reading Essay by Michael Neill The Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington; DC; is home to the worldrsquo;s largest collection of Shakespearersquo;s printed works; and a magnet for Shakespeare scholars from around the globe. His arrangements are just wonderful; melodic and have so much depth to them; they please my heart greatly. They are not difficult; but carry the "Velvet Touch" I so enjoy playing. I have been playing the piano since I was 4; Im now 86 years old. I was a church organist for 53 years. I have lived in this Lutheran Home since 2009 and play the piano for their church services twice a week. Our people here seem to really enjoy these arrangements. There are several more of his books I want to get for the Christmas Season and will order; hopefully; before October. Thank you for introducing me to Tom Fettke.PS. The books I now have are "Gospel Hymns with a Velvet Touch and Hymns with a Velvet Touch"Jeanean Dearman Lewis1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Full Harmonious Sound on each PieceBy MargieHymns with a Velvet touch is absolutely on of my favorites! The arrangements are beautiful; for late intermediate/ early advance Pianists. What I love the most about these arrangements is the creativity; simplicity; and beauty Tom Fettke uses on each hymn giving a fuller harmonious sound! It is #1 on my list. And Im looking forward to see what "Gospel Hymns with a Velvet Touch" will bring! I just purchased it!
