Nei racconti del mito Sofocle rappresenta i grandi temi della vita umana; individuale e sociale; non a caso la sua figura piugrave; popolare; Edipo; ha conosciuto nei secoli una fortuna che va ben al di lagrave; dei motivi puramente letterari; diventando con Freud una delle chiavi della scoperta delle forze inconsce della psiche.

The author does a great job of translating the cultural idioms of the aristophanes ...By Joe B.The author does a great job of translating the cultural idioms of the aristophanes day in a contemporary account that the reader can understand without losing too much of the unique style from the greek original. that being said it is hard to translate someone as unique as aristophanes but the author does a great job at translating the greek words aristophanescreated (combined from 2 words usually) to comic effect and explains such in the context notes. I love them. And who doesnt love an anti-war play (Lysistrata) with lots of sexual connotations for fun!
