A beautifully photographed momento to savour.By Helane NimerawiThis is one of those books you can pour over a hundred times and still see something new. A wonderful glimpse into a Japan that was being lost. even as the book was published in 1993. If nothing can be done to alter the march of modernity. Amy Sylvester Katoh and Shin Kimura have. at least. ensured such harmony with nature and frugal engenuity will not fade into the past unrecorded.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Outstanding Addition to Amy Katoh BooksBy James J BallWe are a big fan of Amy Katoh and got this one to complete our collection. This one does not disappoint if you are at all interested in things Japanese. My wife is American-born Japanese and uses this book and her other books for inspiration and enjoyment. We plan to make a special trip to visit her Blue White store in Tokyo next month because of her books.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. inspirationalBy PharmerSee a warmer side of Japanese interior design. and a vanishing slice of life in rural Japan. in this highly readable book.
