I have another book from this series that I really like so I thought this one would be great for Christmas. Unfortunately this one doesnt flow well for most of the songs. I was hoping for something "pretty" sounding; but there is little rolling of chords and fills. Its mostly one or two strings played at a time for sort of an empty feel. The other book from this series that I have sounds pretty and full. But I bought it now; so I think Im going to take this as an opportunity to grab a pencil and mark in some of my own additions to it - so that should even be a little fun at least. I only gave it a 3 star as opposed to 2 because I really like the layout of these books; a couple of the songs in it are satisfactory; and it actually sounds a little fun to start with someone elses basic outline and add to the song. Also note that the seller I ordered from was very slow. I ordered from the seller SuperBookDeals right at the beginning of December and I got an email saying it shipped on the 4th or 5th....estimated delivery was the 10th to the 26th. I received it a couple days before Christmas (a day or so shy of 3 weeks since I ordered it; and no tracking info was provided). So I played it a few times and had to stick it on the shelf for next year; which was a disappointment. If you buy the book; Id suggest choosing another seller.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. OK -- not top qualityBy SigmaNuThis is an OK book of Christmas music for guitar.Pros--- Guitar solo written in both standard and TAB; so if youre are just starting out and dont yet know where all the notes are on the strings; or you cant read music; you can still play the songs.--- Has choices for duets and accompaniments.--- OK selection of popular carols.Cons--- Some of the positions (in TAB) are strange; and have easier alternatives.--- There are some typos (again; mostly in the TAB -- the standard notation is correct)--- The bottom line of TAB on some pages cant be read -- must have been below the print margin or something. Not a big deal; since you can just not play the sixth string; but it detracts from the perceived quality of the item.Overall; I dont regret buying it; but I cant really recommend it unless you want a nice convenient collection of Christmas music in both standard notation and TAB; with the option to play with friends on various instruments (another guitar or C instruments).0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
