History for those who love dinnerware made in Sebring OhioBy CathyAs I have some beautiful dishes made about 1900 In Sebring; Ohio; and live in Ohio; I found the story of the Sebring family and their town delightful. I appreciate these lovely dishes even more now for their history and for the people who made them and would like to visit Sebring where there is a museum about their dinnerware.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I love books in this series.By Dr. FredAs a history buff I am always interested in books of this nature that cover an area where I have lived or where I have had family. Some of my mothers people lived in Sebring and this book brought back memories. Most of the buildings are gone now that I knew as a child when I visited the area. It still brings back pleasant memories of a beloved aunt and grandmother. The train station still stands where I had a grandfather who was a telegrapher for Western Union. Thought its station pictures are good; I suspect they would have loved to have had the use of one I have of the staff inside the station itself. This grandfather died before I was born; however his pictures and letters have kept him alive for me.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great History of Sebring!By Jerome ClarkeMy great-grandfather was Ellsworth (E.H.) Sebring; but my father never told me much about his mothers family. What a joy it was to find this book; with its great history and many pictures! Im told that my father learned to play billards on the pool table in Ellsworths beautiful home. I enjoyed discovering a heritage that I didnt know I had. Although the city has changed since the peak of the pottery making days; I found it interesting to visit; and reading Mr. Baras book made it a lot more personal.
