WilliamsThe description says this is a handbook for well fitting socks. Its not. She includes *no* sizing info. She has two or three of the most basic types of cast on. heel. toe closing. etc. She has exactly ONE toe up sock. And she only gives one toe-up cast off (the sewn cast off.)Possibly this might be useful for a brand-new sock knitter. providing they had no atypical foot or ankle characteristics. (High instep? heavy ankles? Forget it!) Oh. and only if the brand new sock knitter wants to knit toe up. on 4 double pointed needles. (Forget circular needles.)Ann Budds Getting Started Knitting Socks is a much better beginner book. with better patterns and better instructions.The patterns are unexciting.
