La Senia del Brigantino (Italian Edition)

[DOC] La Senia del Brigantino (Italian Edition) by Giuseppe Alibrandi at Arts-Photography

Description

Gold in Trib 1 is an account of a flying; hiking; and gold prospecting adventure in wild; present-day Alaska. It is the story of the exploits of two good friends and their adventures while prospecting for gold. It is a factual account where possible and where not factual; it is the way they would have liked it. As a result; readers will enjoy the book for what it is; and will not take it so seriously as to dash off with expectations of finding their fortune. There is still much gold in Alaska; but Douglas may have made discovering the Glory Hole; wherever it may be; sound somewhat easier and more financially rewarding than it really was.

While reading it you will learn which bank in Calhoun County was robbed by Bonnie and Clyde; which town was built on the largest known meteorite crater in the United States and where you can go for all-you-can-eat biscuits gravy. I was surprised to learn that a friend of mine from college is related to the family who opened Rost Motor Inc. in Manson in 1958. The days of getting a shave and a haircut for a quarter while wearing a soybean suit might be over; but this book will take you right back there through the hundreds of vintage photos. This county endured many hardships throughout the years due to fires tornadoes; but it always bounced back by rebuilding. Upon finishing the book; I found myself craving the Chicken Fried Steak at Wagon Wheel in Lake City.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Darcy has done a tremendous job for us "ex-pats" in compiling the pictures; anecdotes and history that have faded back into forgotten memories. A very limited readership for the material; but greatly appreciated by those readers who are no longer able to visit. Thank You.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great bookBy JMSolkoThis was a gift purchased for my father-in-law who has spent his entire life in Calhoun County. He enjoyed the book and immediately gave it to his parents (who also have been life long Calhoun County residents). The pictures are great; and there was quite a lot of interesting information to be learned.
