Photoshop is like the human brain; most people only use about 10% of it. Now that Im empty-nesting I decided to get serious. Im taking a level II online class and was a little worried I might be somewhat behind in some areas. The instructor has this book on her list of recommended books so I bought it on my Kindle. I also bought an upgrade for $4.99 which allows me access to a website where I can get updates and download the photos used in the book for practice. The upgrade also allowed me to download a PDF version to my iPad which can be read in iBooks. Jumping around is NO problem! If I choose to check a reference I click a live link and Im there. When I want to go back I click "Back to page xxx" and Im right back where I want to be.So far; I think its perfect for a beginning or intermediate (which I consider myself) user. Ive got the book right next to my computer and I test every new thing I come across until Im comfortable with it. On the iPad I highlight and make notes just as I would in a paper textbook; but theyre so much easier to find later!The book is definitely filling the few small gaps between my experience and my online class and infinitely more. I foresee using it as a reference manual for a long time to come.The Missing Manual is easy to read; easy to understand and easy to use (at least in e format). The light tone and humor add a great deal to what could otherwise be very dry and difficult. This was supposedly "used" but it came in in perfect condition. Weve always loved the "Missing Manual" series and this doesnt disappoint either. Follow the chapters and youll be comfortable in no time.This is NOT an in-depth tell-all. Its designed to make you comfortable enough; you wont be confused or intimidated by Photoshop.Outstanding value for the price we paid!
