Langford's Starting Photography: The Guide to Creating Great Images

[audiobook] Langford's Starting Photography: The Guide to Creating Great Images by Philip Andrews in Arts-Photography

Description

A continuation of 1994rsquo;s groundbreaking Cartoons; Giannalberto Bendazzirsquo;s Animation: A World History is the largest; deepest; most comprehensive text of its kind; based on the idea that animation is an art form that deserves its own place in scholarship. Bendazzi delves beyond just Disney; offering readers glimpses into the animation of Russia; Africa; Latin America; and other often-neglected areas and introducing over fifty previously undiscovered artists. Full of first-hand; never before investigated; and elsewhere unavailable information; Animation: A World History encompasses the history of animation production on every continent over the span of three centuries. Volume I traces the roots and predecessors of modern animation; the history behind Eacute;mile Cohls Fantasmagorie; and twenty years of silent animated films. Encompassing the formative years of the art form through its Golden Age; this book accounts for animation history through 1950 and covers everything from well-known classics like Steamboat Willie to animation in Egypt and Nazi Germany. With a wealth of new research; hundreds of photographs and film stills; and an easy-to-navigate organization; this book is essential reading for all serious students of animation history.

OverallBy Margaret HelselIve been recommending the 6th edition of this book to students in my "Basic Photography" adult ed. classes for years and was eager to see the updated 7th edition. My only complaint is that the 7th is almost identical to the 6th--the updates are minimal and should. I think. have included more parts of the book. Also. the book discusses film as well as digital. and some of my digital-shooter students find this slightly annoying. Overall. though. its quite a good book for beginners.-Bill Helsel0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Langfords Starting PhotographyBy T. L. SmithThis book is an excellent resource for the beginning and experienced photographers.I only have one issue. the font is difficult to read. Its much too small. I understand to make it larger you would add a lot of pages. This wouldnt be an issue for most people.
