A turning point for Libertyville came in the 1950s. The town was growing up; transitioning from a quaint farming community into a vibrant upper-middle class suburban village. Carl Cizek documented this change in a series of photographs. Recaptured today; the images offer a visual journey of a maturing town. .

A Glimpse of the pastBy SethA great source of information about early Lansing. Too bad that so many of these buildings are gone and hardly any of the old homes were saved.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A fine pictorial history of my former hometownBy MFANI grew up in Lansing but havent lived there since 1959. This book is just what I hoped it would be: A most engaging pictorial history of my former hometown. I especially enjoyed seeing (and reading about)the earlier versions of buildings and other sites with which I was familiar during my youthful days in the 1950s. It was a fun read for me!
