Mod may have been born in the ballrooms and nightclubs around London but it soon rampaged throughout the country. Young kids soon found a passion for sharp clothes; music and dancing; but for some it was pills; thrills and violence. The original Mod generation tell it exactly how it was; in their very own words. First hand accounts of the times from the people who were actually on the scene. Top faces; scooterboys; DJs; promoters and musicians build up a vivid; exciting snapshot of what it was really like to be with the in-crowd. Packed with rare pictures; ephemera; art and graphics of the era. Featuring interviews with Eddie Floyd; Martha Reeves; Ian McLagan; Chris Farlowe and many more.

Because of this; it will be highly improbably for you to find the same exact fabrics as shown in the book. Ive found that quilt fabrics go out of production fairly rapidly; so I am always happy to just use the fabric in photographs as a general guide rather than a specific one.I have quilted on and off for more than 30 years. I have made quilts by hand and by machine. I have pieced quilts and appliqued them as well. I have used scissors; rotary cutters and even both manual and electric fabric cutting devices (such as GO) to cut pieces of fabric. Ive quilted by hand; by machine and with free-embroidery stitching by machine. Even so; I dont consider myself more than an advanced beginner to intermediate in quilting. I enjoy the process but have never spent months developing a project.Because of this; I was happy to see a 24 hour quilt project book. Its interesting that the author has given times next to each project but; for me at least; it takes a lot longer to finish than she estimates. The projects are fun and give you a taste of various ways to make a quilt. The descriptions are good as are the visual instructions. I think it is a great book for beginners to use. The only issue I have is that there have been a lot of new products made available in the last decade and those are not discussed in the book. I would consider it a good add-on to a new quilters library but not a definitive book for their use.I was provided a temporary digital advance reader copy of this book by the publisher; Dover Publications; via Netgalley.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. When it was not in use it was raised up out of the way then lowered when there was time to work on the quilt. The ladies would drag in chairs from the dining room and spend hours working; talking about their lives and their hopes and fears for the future. My grandmother and her friends would then give the quilts as gifts or donate them to someone who needed them. Unfortunately I was never good with mitering the corners and got away from doing quilts for years and only started again when my nephew was born nearly 20 years ago and I found a quilt that did not require perfect corners. It was ten years later I discovered yo-yo quilts and could indulge myself. Then I was given a copy of 24-Hour Quilting Projects by Dover and NetGalley to review. I so wanted to see if perhaps I could try again. I began with Ragged Pinwheels. I was slow it took almost 4 days to complete; but it turned out to look just like to picture. I did my happy dance and petted the quick like it was the softest fur. I am so proud of myself. Feeling brave I went on to try the Mini Floral Appliqueacute;. It had bigger pieces so I figured I have less corners to mess up. Surprise I quickly finished it my corners look great. I cannot wait to try the others. I will definitely have to buy 24-Hour Quilting Projects as my limited time to review it is almost up.Rita Weiss has given clear instructions with plenty of photos to illustrate them. I hope Ms. Weiss realizes how much she has boosted my confidence and allowed me to indulge in some very precious memories of times shared with my grandmother; my mother and some wonderful women who shared their time and talents with a young girl who admired them very much. Check out 24-Hour Quilting Projects. Even if you have never tried a quilt before I guarantee you will be able to do the Ragged Pinwheels and with time and practice the others as well. The title says 24-Hours but if you take longer do not give up. The results are beautiful and can be enjoyed for generations. A definite 5 out of 5 Stars. Any more quilting projects or any 24-Hour project books on the horizon?
