It doesnt go into all the rules of jazz; doesnt give you pages of chords and scales; doesnt tell you what is right or wrong or how youre supposed to do something. What it does is give you good solid ideas on how to add new stuff to your playing. Some of it is easy; some of it is very advanced; but it all sounds cool and some of it was very easy for me to incorporate into my own music. Anyway; I cant wait for the next one (hope it comes out soon; you reading this Scott?) There are also anecdotes and stories about where the author picked up some of his ideas. All in all; Im very happy with this purchase and if you can read music and want to break some new jazz ground; give it a shot.
