A great resource for students and architects.By AMSArchEnvironmental Issues for Architecture is a must-have for any aspiring architect who wants to practice in an environmentally conscious capacity. This isnt your standard; green-washed text for the green-washed era - its a comprehensive introduction to responsible climactic response. The text arms students with the resources and know-how to engage contractors; the engineering industry; and pesky critics alike. In short; its a well-detailed bridge from the studio to the profession. If you care about how buildings actually work; youll be rewarded.0 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Please reviseBy Sassy_CincyWhile informative; this foundation textbook suffers from a lack of careful editing and general disorganization. The bulk of the text is written in unbroken prose - less of a textbook; and more of a monologue with somewhat helpful diagrams.1 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Stick with the classics; disregard this bookBy HomebuilderLong-winded; inaccurate; sloppy; incoherent; tangential.I purchased the book as a backup to Norbert Lechners "Heating; Cooling; Lighting" All it did was confuse me. It seems that more than written; it was recorded and then transcribed.Entire pages are pure verbal diarrhea with no point at all. Often entire paragraphs are written down just to be dismissed in the following pages.More glaring issues are the incomplete formulas (numbers disappear; or dont match up from one page to the next; making you spend 45 minutes thinking you are an idiot; just to let google confirm that what is written is actually incorrect or incomplete).Typos galore; amateurish images and diagrams that make no sense. Formulas are written longhand as well as entire calculations; making it impossible to follow. So stick with Lechner; its everything this book isnt: useful.
