San Francisco Beer is a well written; well researched history of Brewing in the City from the early days of San Francisco through the Prohibition era; the dark days of mass produced fizzy lager through the formative years of the burgeoning Craft Beer scene and up to the current day.Ive visited the Anchor Brewery several times and it was great to read the history of the Brewery and to see Fritz Maytag given the credit hes due for kick starting the Craft Beer Revolution. Ive also spent many hours in San Franciscos original Brewpub The San Francisco Brewing Company now sadly long closed but good to see featured here. Ill be visiting San Francisco again in a few weeks and the best recommendation I can give this book is that Ill be taking it with me; both as a guide and for inspiration.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
