Detroits Corktown; A History StoryBy Allison WhiteAn excellent read on the history of the oldest neighborhood in Detroit; and history of its inhabitants. Immigrants fro Ireland settled in Corktown; as the suggests. But Corktown was/is home to many other ethnicities. I enjoyed reading about the authentic Irish pubs; restaurants; and business; some of which I will have to check out. My dad was born and raised in Corktown and I remember often being in the Irish pub he owned. Thus; it brought back many memories. But what I didnt know was all the history. This book made it come to life. I ordered another copy for my sister.
