L'ombra dei fuochi (Italian Edition)

[DOC] L'ombra dei fuochi (Italian Edition) by Sauro Bartolozzi in Arts-Photography

Description

Though American attitudes toward religion changed dramatically during the 1960s; interest in spirituality itself never diminished. If we listen closely; Michael Gilmour contends; we can hear an extensive religious vocabulary in the popular music of the decades that followedmdash;articulating each generationrsquo;s spiritual quest; a yearning for social justice; and the emotional highs of love and sex.Probing the lyrical canons of seminal artists including Cat Stevens; the Rolling Stones; Bob Dylan; Eric Clapton; Joni Mitchell; Neil Young; U2; Ozzy Osbourne; Pearl Jam; Madonna; and Kanye West; Gilmour considers the waysmdash;and reasons why--pop musicrsquo;s secular poets and prophets adopted religious phrases; motifs; and sacred texts.

Be prepared to have a globe or other reference available if you want to find the places the book talks about; great pix though!!By ElizabethAnother Baby Professor book with some cool pictures. There are about 200 books in this ebook series that are offered in the kindle store for either free or for .99cent;. You cant really go wrong with the books offered for free. There is a variety of subjects covered and most of the books follow about the same format. You can take a peek inside the books by clicking "Look Inside" and this is pretty much what you get in each book. This particular book is nice and the photos are fantastic. The format for this book is a little different than most of the Baby Professor books in this series which have a picture with a paragraph and facts on one page. Then the next page is just a photo. This book is nice because each page is its own "fun fact." Honestly; I was originally disappointed because I expected this book to have maps in it instead of a picture (very vivid pictures by the way) and the fun fact. But Ive come to expect this from Baby Professor. But this book is offered for free right now and I can easily have my kids pull out a globe as we read or do a search on the internet to find the place the book talks about. Also; I probably wouldnt say this is 6th Grade geography because both my 4th and 2nd grader will easily be able to navigate and enjoy this book. Ideally; Baby Professor should have had a little picture of the globe on each page and highlighted each place it talked about.Anyway; overall; I do like theses books for their wonderful pictures. It would be nice if the books went into more detail but they are very basic books that I hope will get my kids interested in finding more about each subject.I plan on keeping these books on my iPad for down time for my kids when they get bored waiting different places like the doctors office or practice for a sibling. I sometimes watch a friends 3 year old daughter and she likes to look through the pictures on my phone. I plan on showing her these books to keep her entertained. I think she will love them.***** I received this ebook for free in exchange for my honest review. *****0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This is an excellent ebook for 6th gradersBy rkreviewerThis is an excellent ebook for 6th graders! As a teacher of elementary students; I would love to incorporate this ebook into a small group activity where I present a main idea or topic to the whole class and then they break up in small groups and discover more material on their own. My mind was continuously racing as I read through this book thinking of different projects I could make on this topic. It is the perfect age group to let them use a kindle to explore and what a better way to do so than with this ebook! I will totally let other teachers know of this opportunity and will keep this seller in mind with other ebooks available. I received this product free for reviewing purposes; however my opinions are all my own.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. The pictures are certainly nice but it is a confusing bookBy J. H.This book puzzles me. How is this geography? This book just has random facts about various countries; places; cities. No rhyme or reason to it. Just because geography happens to be the connecting theme doesnt mean anyone would ever want to read this book. I dont know; I dont get it. The pictures are certainly nice but it is a confusing book. It doesnt each a whole lot; especially considering this is for the 6th graders - it has to have a bit more meaning; point to it.Sample was provided free of charge for reading and a review.
