West Jefferson is located in the northwest corner of North Carolina; a land once known for its cherry orchards. In 1779; Col. Benjamin Cleveland; a hero of the Battle of Kingrsquo;s Mountain; received a grant for 320 acres in a mountain valley in return for his service during the Revolutionary War. In 1912; the Virginia-Carolina Railroad became interested in the arearsquo;s timber; farming; and mining resources and began building a railroad into Ashe County; ending at Todd. When the railroad came; the area was already populated by farms and businesses; as it was only two miles from the county seat of Jefferson. The North Carolina General Assembly chartered the town of West Jefferson in 1915; with boundaries extending one mile in each direction from the Virginia-Carolina Railroad depot. The railroad brought commercial growth; and the First National Bank of West Jefferson was opened in 1915 as well. West Jefferson showcases the expansion of this small town with a popular rail line to a tourist destination and retail center in the North Carolina mountains.

Art Books = Ads...SHOW Us Designs #367...By classicsGGmaArt books these are not...they are ads for the print coloring books published by Jupiter Kids; Coloring Therapist and Speedy Publishing (all same place). The samples are reused for some of their other coloring books...we have no way of knowing exactly which designs are actually in each book. What good are they for Kindle Users...None.When we buy coloring books in stores we can look inside to see if we like the designs and check for designs we already have. WHY Not Here On ??Designs pretty basic but mostly for older children.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Nice butterflies. No backgrounds. Not many pages.By CustomerThe coloring pages are simple with only butterflies and no backgrounds; but the butterflies look pretty nice. Im not sure if this is just a small selection of the pages since its free (I counted only 14 butterflies); if it had more pages Id probably buy it since Id like to add in my own backgrounds anyway. I like that most of the butterflies are more realistic and there are only a few zentangle types.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Simply just butterflies; nothing else. Kids would get bored of coloring just butterflies.By Write On! JolynnMany variety of butterflies. Each butterfly is different.Labeling the names of the butterflies to learn the different types of butterflies; could be educational. Kids might notice the differences more if they are labeled also.I know these are for kids; but they look almost to simple. Maybe trees; flowers or some kind of background would be nice.
