Good overview with pictures of the various stages of a town in upstate New YorkBy CameronsMy fathers ancestral line emigrated to the U.S. and settled in Dunkirk; New York in the 2nd half of the 19th century. As such; I was interested in the history and pictures of the town where my relatives got their start. My review is within that lens.The book gives a good high-level history of the various epochs in Dunkirks history; with key turning points from one to the next. For example: Dunkirk as a fishing town or a lumber town; Dunkirk as a railroad terminus; Dunkirk as an industrial giant for the region; and Dunkirk in decline and reinvention. There are a good smattering of pictures throughout.
