Excellent. Better than I expected; actuallyBy MusicFreakI bought this book because Ive been practicing on the couch as I watch tv for years. This is not ALL my practice; but watching tv or a movie is a good time to mindlessly rattle off patterns and work on stamina and such. This book delivers on its prommise; with clever exercises and ideas. It even includes a whole hand/finger workout you do *without* an instrument. Perfect not only for couch vegging out; but when youre in a waiting room; or on a boring family reunion. Theyre almost imperceptible if you do them right.I think this book could very well be used as a primer for beginners. I mean; Im sure that starting with hand/finger exercises right off the bat can only help a beginner develop finger dexterity. It has a very basic notation and tab explanation; and it covers the major scale; its diatonic triads; and major and minor pentatonics. Hell; ENTIRE CAREERS have been built off of that knowledge alone! If youre a bass player; get this book.
