Margeau Blanc: A New Perspective on Winter White Knits (Dover Knitting; Crochet; Tatting; Lace)

[DOC] Margeau Blanc: A New Perspective on Winter White Knits (Dover Knitting; Crochet; Tatting; Lace) by Margeau Soboti in Arts-Photography

Description

So many colorful stories are lost to time. The last passenger pigeon on earth; Martha; died in the Cincinnati Zoo in 1914. The deadliest maritime disaster in American history was the explosion of the steamboat Sultana; built in the Queen City. Just outside the city; a young Annie Oakley beat her future husband in a shooting contest. The nations first train robbery occurred in the Cincinnati area; and some clever victims hid jewelry in their hair and bodices. From the Black Brigades role in protecting the city against Confederate siege to the original 1937 Cincinnati Bengals; author Jeff Suess reveals the triumphs and tribulations of the first major American city founded after the American Revolution.

Winter white designsBy Jbarr5Margeau Blanc A New Perspective on Winter White Knits by Margeau SobotiAfter watching the inaugural and all the women wearing white I had wanted to read this book.Patterns are simple yet elegant. My favorite is a beannie type hat where crown is worked in special design. Not all the pictures showed properly for me on my tablet but I was able to understand what was being shown.Think I like the accessories more than the sweater but those are really nice also. Each pattern starts out with color photo and a summary of the item.Skill level. yarn used. needles and notion along with measurements and gauge.Stitch glossary is enclosed for each pattern and then the directions. row by row-not charted directions.Easy to understand and I do not think anybody will have a problem making any of these as the details are so descriptive.I did not care for the sweaters hanging on a tree branch as they didnt just hang right. It does show how the item will look but Id rather see a model wearing them.Like that there are so many different methods for neck and sleeves and even length of sweaters. So versatile.Abbreviations are listed at the end. Something for everyone.I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. White on whiteBy AnonymouseWinter white is the theme of this knitting pattern book. 14 patterns for hats. shawls. sweaters and a cowl. The book uses written patterns and is suitable for anyone who can do a cable. None of the patterns is particularly unusual and I wish that the models had smiled more often instead of looking as if they had just swallowed a snowball.I received a review copy of "Margeau Blanc: A New Perspective on Winter White Knits" by Margeau Soboti (Dover) through NetGalley.com.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Wearable knitting designsBy AmosI was able to read this book because of the kindness of the people at Net Galley. The book. in my opinion. is geared for intermediate or expert knitters. The designs are attractive and the pictures show them off nicely. I like that theyre all fairly basic designs. although there is enough change in stitches to give variety. I know the white garments were the theme. but think they could have been improved with a little color. I especially liked the crew neck sweater because of the extended back hem. The reason I believe this is for knitters with experience is because most of the designs call for smaller needles and more stitches to the inch than a lot of books with basic designs.
