I was given the download free of charge so that I could read it and leave a review.The books in this line of educational products are phenomenal. They contain beautiful pictures of the subject of the book. The download is available via the Kindle app to view on all your electronic devices. It works well on my android table. It is not compatible with my basic Kindle reader so thats something to be aware of. The publisher has listed a large number of educational books to download and view. The download is a sampling of what is in the printed book. Its nice to be able to check the book out before buying it.This particular book explores coral reefs. There are great quality pictures of coral reefs that illustrate what each page is talking about. This will help a child remember the information because the picture will be remembered. For a visual learner; that is so important. The book describes what a coral reef is; what kind of sea life is found there; how it supports the sea life ecosystem; and how important coral reefs are to our planet. The information is easy to read and understand. It has just enough scientific language to challenge a child but not so much that it is overwhelming.The pictures are beautiful and tie in well with the information to make it easy for a child to remember. The best part are the pictures of the fish that the reef supports. Third graders would find this book enjoyable but I believe children as young as Kindergarten would enjoy having it read to them. The pictures could be talked about as well and engaging to the younger child. Children as young as preschool age could use the book as a picture book.I hope this review has been helpful to you. Coral beef???By MayaAnother example of a short; poorly edited book by this publisher. I really hoped this would be a good bookfor one of my kids to study. He is only 8 and he rolled his eyes at me after reading it and being asked hisopinion. He said even though a baby would not be interested in the book for the words or the pictures it waswritten on that level. He said he could write more about coral reefs than was in the book. He said the openingwords were entirely wrong. Coral reefs are living things; but not FISH! He said that alone told him the persondid not know what they were talking about. Some of the pictures were really nice; but at least one was a bittoo nice and maybe photo shopped. This was a very short book that had very little real information. It was morelike a book of coral reef trivia as one of my older children commented after reading it at my request. My kidsactually asked me why I was asking them to read all these "bad" books. I told them I was reviewing the booksand needed their input because the books were supposedly for kids. One said she felt sorry for any kid whoonly had these books to read.Why do these people write books and no one actually reads them for editing issues? Coral beef? Amazing and Captivating !!By J. HawkinsWonderful series of books !! Our son absolutely loves these and I love hearing him not only reading; but wanting to read more !! Thank you for writing such interesting books with incredible graphics and amazing facts. We load books to his kindle and take it along everywhere we go. Hes enjoyed these books so much; he not only reads them; but he reads aloud; makes comments as hes reading (and we can hear the excitement in his voice) as he discovers new things and asks tons of questions; which leads to reading yet more books from the series. Wonderful inspiration to young readers and those not yet reading who enjoy being read to. There is the right balance of facts and photos to keep the reader (or listener) engaged from start to finish !
