A successful screenplay starts with an understanding of the fundamentals of dramatic story structure. In this practical introduction; Edward J. Fink condenses centuries of writing about dramatic theory into ten concise and readable chapters; providing the tools for building an engaging narrative and turning it into an agent-ready script. Fink devotes chapters to expanding on the six basic elements of drama from Aristotlersquo;s Poetics (plot; character; theme; dialogue; sound; and spectacle); the theory and structure of comedy; as well as the concepts of unity; metaphor; style; universality; and catharsis. Key terms and discussion questions encourage readers to think through the components of compelling stories and put them into practice; and script formatting guidelines ensure your finished product looks polished and professional. Dramatic Story Structure is an essential resource not only for aspiring screenwriters; but also for experienced practitioners in need of a refresher on the building blocks of storytelling.

Rosenberg; Texas with "before" and "after" photos!By WilsonGood writing about the history with GREAT pictures both past and present of the buildings and streets or Rosenberg; Texas! My parents drove 30+ miles to bring us children to Dr. Frantz E. Amman in Rosesnberg when we were sick. (Im retired; so it was a long time ago.)This book shows several different time frame pictures of the building Dr. Amman was in; and lists the doctors he worked with; too.Ive only read a few pages on my Kindle for PC; but I can heartily recommend this book for those of you who wish to read and see the historyof Rosenberg; Texas.I do have a complaint; however; concerning this quote about The State Theater:"The State would later show Czech films; and more important; Spanish-language movies."Many Czechs are acknowledged to have helped make Rosenberg (as this book also plainly states) so why are Spanish-language movieslisted as "more important" than Czech movies?I understand that many Mexicans now live in Rosenberg-perhaps "The Rosenberg Historians (the authors of this book) are Mexican?Should I; as a Texas Czech-and there are a LOT of (mostly Moravian) Czechs in Texas-should I be offended?
